WHO I AM

I’m David Kjærnet, and I don’t just tell stories. I excavate them. I dig through the noise, through the chaos, through the moments that most people overlook.

I studied film at Høyskolen Kristiania, where I learned that a single frame can scream louder than a thousand words. I directed, edited, wrote, and shot. I learned to cut time, bend reality, and carve emotion into the screen.

But it wasn’t enough to just know the craft. I had to master the art of making you feel. Because in the end, that’s what cinema is — not a collection of moving images, but a mirror held up to the soul.

MY CRAFT

  • DIRECTOR
    I don’t just call the shots. I design the rhythm, the tension, the silence. I take the chaos and orchestrate it into a visceral experience. You don’t just watch my films. You feel them.
  • EDITOR
    Every cut is a heartbeat. Every second a decision. Editing isn’t about what you keep —
    it’s about what you dare to leave out. I cut through the noise to reveal the truth beneath the frame.
  • SOUND DESIGN & MIXER
    The loudest scream is a breath. The most haunting echo is a silence. I sculpt sound to pierce, to soothe, to disturb. From raw field recordings to final mix, I don’t just fill the space — I own it.
  • SCRIPT
    I write with a knife, not a pen. Every line bleeds intention, every word strikes a nerve. A script isn’t a story. It’s a ticking bomb, waiting to explode on screen.
  • CINEMATOGRAPHER
    Light is my language. Shadows are my punctuation. I don’t just capture moments — I trap them, bend them, distort them, until they confess. Every frame is a frame of mind.
  • EVERYTHING ELSE
    From directing actors to catching wild sound, from holding a boom to cutting the final shot. I do what needs to be done to make the scene work. Because in the end, it’s not about the tools. It’s about the impact.

TO REMIND YOU OF WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO FORGET.
